Mills and Boon and Transita, United Kingdom publishers are targeting middle-aged women for their new lines of “matron lit” or “gray lit.” Jill Cooper, a bestselling romance writer, in her new book, Wicked, takes it one step further:
I had a lively scene in the new book where the 80-year old man gets down to propose, but can’t get back up. He is also worried about kissing in case his bridge falls out.
Wow, I am feeling so darned youthful and energetic; I think I’ll try two back flips, just for fun. After that, I’ll probably pop a few pain pills and go straight to bed!
