Blogging: A New Sense of Community

Three to five years ago there were tens of thousands of blogs. Now there are millions. Blogspot alone hosts 1.5 million bloggers influencing how we view the world from many perspectives.

Blogging allows people to be publishers of their own news and not just consumers. Even professional writers have turned to blogging, saying they love the dialogue and the freedom to write about whatever they want to write about.

It has been said that two heads are better than one. In the case of blogging, it's like having a giant communal brain where writers can set up forums dialoguing about current events affecting international, national, and local issues. The blogosphere has become an "idea factory" for the established media.

Blogging is an effective tool to reach people who are important decision-makers. These influential opinion-makers are benefiting from web sites that state ideas and public opinion concerning issues dealing with all realms of subject matter; from politics to writing and everything in between. Blogger community take note: if you have something noteworthy and interesting to write, you will eventually be heard.
