Jelly fish

by Mary E. Bone

You tapped into my ocean,
Leaving me in your wake,
A trembling mass of substance,
more like a jellyfish—
quivering, wanting more sustenance,
from your salty kiss.

Mary Bone and her husband, Merl, have three children, Cory, Kevin and Natalie. She has been writing poetry since the age of twelve, after her dad, John Ray Barrick, passed away. He was a veteran of WWII and suffered from Battle Fatigue. Her mother, Esther, resides in a local nursing center. She is one of eight children.
Many of her poems have been published in magazines, journals, newspapers and online. She has had two poetry chapbooks published and a short story in the “My Folks” and WWII series, published by Capper's Press. She also does some artwork, which is for sale in Historic downtown Wilson's local museum. She is glad to say that if she has any talent, she gives all credit to our Lord and Creator from whom all blessings flow.
