What’s Hot: Remember Pulp?Dating myself is not one of my favorite things to do, but I remember pulp novels printed on pulpwood paper, sold at newsstands and drugstore counters. They were an enjoyable read that passed out of the publishing world about fifty years ago. A new publishing imprint, Hard Case Crime, plans to publish a dozen reprints and new stories, hoping to find a modern market and resurrect this old school genre. Modern mystery masters such as Lawrence Block, and classic authors such as Erle Stanley Gardner, along with new writers, are predicted to be future best sellers. It’s time to start writing those mystery novels. |
