A WriterOnLine Publication
Dear Subscribers, In between two Newsletters, I have been knocking at your mailbox two times. I can't help but do so because we here at Cornet Solutions are so excited about our two spin-offs from Writer Online that I could not wait to tell you about them. With MY-E-BOOK we have big plans, because we are the first publisher with such a unique formula, which guarantees book sales as well as a unique guarantee for writers who sign up with MY-E-BOOK!!
In short, for us some great achievements made these weeks and now, it is time for you to take some action!
Have a nice reading ! Corney Vanhelden
Publisher Dear Readers,
I am so excited about all I have to tell you in my little column this month I could just burst! Let me start by introducing our new Technical Communications Editor to you, Judy Shenouda.
Judy has been the owner of her own technical communications business for almost 20 years, producing a wide array of documentation in all formats. Technical Communication is a new frontier for Writer Online; although we have published articles on the profession in the past, we have not as yet had a concentrated focus on it. A fascinating and challenging field unto itself, it is also a vehicle for us starving fiction writers and poets to put food on the table while we wile away into the wee hours with our other writing loves. Check out Judy's Thanksgiving-theme article, "Giving
Thanks for Lessons Learned."
Remember Paying Markets? Well, Paying Markets has morphed into JustMarkets and gotten its very own website at http://www.justmarkets.com/ You're going to flip when you see the real, live, current, juicy listings publisher Stephanie Olsen compiles in her daily digest. Hear directly from Steph in her message "Welcome to JustMarkets." Also read Steph's amazing story about how she manages to build and maintain a freelance business while living abroad in "Doin' It Abroad." Isn't that terrific news about MY-E-BOOK? And there's more to come, but in the meantime, check out the site at MY-E-BOOK. And here's a really cool tidbit for all of you writers who are thinking of submitting to us. (And we welcome your submissions!) From now on, payment will be made for anything we publish in the form of a one month subscription to JustMarkets, a value of $9.95!! Come on you guys, get writing!! It's once again time for the annual Writers' Digest rankings of the best web sites for writers -- please vote for Writer Online : read the article below to find out how! Other great reads in this issue include William Owen's poem "November," in which you'll actually feel what it's like to be this raw, gray month; "Contests for Younger Readers" where Grace Tierney tells how to find just that; and "Writing and Riding: A Spiritual Connection" by Pamela Beers where the author tells how a gallop down the hedgerow on a November morning inspires her to write. In our regular features, this issue we have a twist on the Thanksgiving them with our Contest -- you're going to have some fun with this one. Plus, you could win $25 and see your entry published in Writer Online. And for those of you writers who also have a penchant for the numbers, you'll go wild over our Equation Invasion puzzle! The lucky winner takes home $25 worth of writer's software! So, until next issue -- keep that ink flowing and those keys a'clacking! My warm regards,
Mary Anne Donovan
Chief Editor/WriterOnLine

In honor of Thanksgiving, we thought we'd give you something a little different to try. Instead of the usual 'thank-you's' that people expect, why not try your hand at writing a Thank You Letter to someone you would never consider thanking? More

More Giving Thanks for Lessons Learned
By Judith Ellison Shenouda Giving thanks is part of the human condition. Every religion, every culture finds ways to say "thank you" to friends, family, leaders, a higher power, and whatever entity has helped us in our endeavors. In the U.S., Thanksgiving is a cherished holiday. Families and friends gather together around the customary roast turkey dinner to celebrate. Whether expressed aloud or silently in the confines of one's heart and mind, we give thanks for our blessings...More Doin' It Abroad

Poetry: November
By William Owen Take this journey with our poet and find out what it's like to "become November." More Contests for Younger Writers
By Grace Tierney I am constantly amazed by the sheer numbers of enthusiastic writers I meet online who are under 18. There's a long history of young authors; Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley who wrote "Frankenstein" when she was 19 years, Christopher Paoli was 15 when he self-published his young adult fantasy book "Eragon" and it swept onto bestseller lists, and more recently 18 year old Leah Lauber published "Soccer Dreams" (http://www.SoccerDreamsBook.com) to describe her true adventure following the U.S. Women's National Team as a 12 year old junior reporter during the 1999 Women's World Cup. More Writing and Riding: A Spiritual Connection
By Pamela Beers
Some things just go better together than others do. A thick, juicy, porterhouse steak with a wine goblet full of a rich
Merlot floats my boat. Creamy peanut butter and homemade raspberry jam on toast with a tall glass of ice cold milk is another
turn-on. But, what really excites me is a packet of yellow legal pads with a thick rubber-grip, ball point pen. More
