First Lines: Can You Tell Us What Happened to The Little Girl's Mommy?

For a writer, finding work isn’t as easy as it use to be. Competition is fierce and sometimes the work involves completing someone else’s work. At times, this type of work can be daunting. At other times, this type of work is fun and rewarding.

So, sharpen those pencils, gulp down that second cup of coffee, get those creative juices flowing, and in 500 words or less, finish the following story.

At midnight Mr. Reynolds was awakened by the doorbell. Upon opening the door, he saw a pale, little girl in a white dress, twirling her hair. “Have you seen my mommy?” the little girl asked.
