A class action lawsuit was filed by thousands of freelance writers due to the fact that their articles were found in online databases, without prior permission. Writers who were mentioned in the settlement and had copyrighted their work, received up to $1500 for each article listed. Those that are mentioned in the settlement, but did not copyright their work, received up to $60 per article.
