2035—Redux

by Maclean Dewitt

Though the possibility exists,
as well,
that we will cook our pasta
together
for an hour,
until it melts on our
bright tongues,
and that we will pour
nothing but a pale cheese
over it,
one that will not offend
our geriatric stomachs.

Possible, too,
that we will grow similar
(at least to passersby) as the years
tumble all over themselves
to be done,

that we will lie naked
in some very familiar bed,
titillated,
grinning,
and almost unable.
