Lost Revenue: Newspapers vs. Craigslist

According to a recent report from Classified Intelligence LLC, Craigslist, a free community website that is one-quarter owned by E-bay Inc., has cost newspapers in the San Francisco Bay area $50 million to $65 million in employment revenue.

Craigslist has also cost the newspapers untold millions more in merchandise and real estate advertising, while cramping other traditional classified advertising businesses.
