Shooting Bidets? Lewis Black, the Red Skeleton of his Generation
I’m willing to wager that at least half of you reading this first line do not even know who Red Skelton (1913-1997) was. According to comedian and author, Lewis Black, he is the Red Skelton of his generation. Author of a new candid memoir, “Nothing’s Sacred,” (Simon Spotlight), Black is a regular on John Stewart’s Daily Show (Back in Black) as well as a regular at comedy clubs across the country.
Not long ago, Black was an aspiring comedian seeking fame. “Nothing Sacred” portrays his journey from his beginnings in Maryland to the present, including “rants on vaccines, computers, corporate greed and the United States government.”
Black confesses that he eventually may even figure out a bidet. “Just yesterday I was at the Omni in Houston and (my hotel room) had a bidet. I turned on the water to see and it shot right in my eye. So I’ve learned nothing.” |
