Hello again everybody,
This past week has been so exciting for me, what with the opening of the dedicated
markets site JustMarkets!
Unlike those volunteer-based "I'll do it till I get tired; pay what you
can" plans which pop up constantly and then collapse, you can rely on JustMarkets.
As you know, JustMarkets is backed by business investment
and a professional team of publishers, web techs and wizards who are in it
for the long term. I am fully supported to do one job only: search for paying
telecommute markets for you.
Now for this week's issue of JustMarkets: from
men to birds, from Nevada to Nob Hill, there are markets and editors out there
waiting just for you.
As always,
good writing!
Stephanie Olsen

P.S. What a nice gift a year's
subscription to JustMarkets makes!
Your writer friend(s) could certainly benefit from the fastest markets online,
saving countless hours of searching and scrounging all over the internet
for paying freelance markets for writers.
Best Life
What Matters to Men
Both the email delivering the guidelines and the guidelines themselves start:
It's not easy to break into Best Life. Don't even try if you haven't been
published in a major magazine.
BL is an authoritative source of information on all aspects of a man's life,
from fitness to food, career to emotional health. We rely on writers to seek
out the right experts, and to either tell a story from a first-person perspective
or to get good anecdotes. We carefully fact-check all quotes and information
contained in the magazine.
The best place to break into the magazine is the Time + Money section or
one of our departments: The Male Mind, The Male Body, Food + Wine, etc. For
Time + Money, we seek submissions of about 200 words. Pays $.50 to $1 per
word upon completion of fact-checking; buys all rights (negotiable).

Experienced Business Writers
Telecommute
The Planning Shop is an independent, rapidly growing publisher of books
on business planning, entrepreneurship, and small business. We are about
to launch a series of books that will bring business principles and practices
to life for existing -- and aspiring -- entrepreneurs.
We're seeking writers who have experience presenting business- related
subjects to a general audience in books, magazines, or newspapers. A
lively, informal writing style is a must, as is the ability to present
business concepts in a clear, concise manner.
Experience in writing about business plans, business loans, business
research, home-based businesses, and other topics of interest to the
independent businessperson would be extremely helpful.
We'd like to commission a writer immediately for a
manuscript of approximately 20,000 words, due at the end of January 2005,
on a work-for-hire basis. We will supply a detailed outline and much
of the background material. We're looking to build up a stable of writers
who are comfortable with a range of business-related topics, so feel
free to apply even if you are not available for this deadline.
Please apply with resume, cover letter, and three writing samples to
writer [at] planningshop.com. We can accept plain text, Word, or *small*
PDF documents only.
