Markets for Writers
Written by Stephanie Olsen

A JustMarkets Publication

Welcome, writers!

Like you, I've been closely following the devastation in Asia and east Africa caused by the earthquake and tsunami. A site I've found of use, with updated information and suggestions of practical ways to assist, is actually a blog called Tsunami Help.

On a lighter note, I also recommend a visit to The Slot. The site's tagline is A Spot for Copy Editors, and it's a place to learn and have fun at the same time.

Hope you've noticed the new Market of the Day page at JustMarkets. Please feel free to drop by daily for a brand-new paying telecommute opportunity!

As for this issue of JustMarkets, from South Beach fashionistas to amazing Australians, from fly fishers to same-sex parents, there are readers out there waiting just for you.

Good writing everyone!

Stephanie Olsen
Publisher/JustMarkets

P.S. TELL A FRIEND! What a nice gift a year's subscription to Just Markets makes! Your writer friend could benefit from the fastest markets online, saving countless hours of searching and scrounging all over the internet for paying freelance markets for writers.

New magazine seeks general interest articles

I am currently seeking articles of general-interest to be published in a new magazine in Australia.

We have quite a large budget and will pay up to $1 per word for any high quality articles.
We would like to see articles along the following lines:

  • Amazing people who have done amazing things.
  • People with interesting jobs that the public may not know about.
  • Unusual hobbies that most people do not know about.
  • Humorous pieces about trivial things in life.
  • Self-help articles.

As I said it is general interest, so I welcome all queries. We also have room for columnists. If
you want to become a columnist, you will have to provide a twelve month outline of all the
articles that you plan on writing about. I prefer that you send full article submissions to me via email with the text in the main email body. A brief synopsis would be appreciated. Photo
support for any articles always earns extra credit and previous work is not necessary but does
help. I look forward to hearing from you, Trishan Naidoo, Co-editor.
