“Hello Laziness: The Guide to Slacking Off at Work”
by Shelley Bueche
In the book, “Hello Laziness: The Guide to Slacking Off at Work,” written by Corinne Maier and published by Pantheon, Maier maintains that the average worker floats through the work day with minimal engagement. Most businesses, according to Maier, “strategize” about their company and learn to use corporate doublespeak. When Maier’s boss (she is an economist in France) found out about her new book, he tried to have her fired. Fortunately the union saved Maier’s job and she is still there presumably conducting research and getting through the work day.
That’s what I love about being a writer, I can spend all day on the web and if anyone asks—I’m ‘conducting research.’ Just don’t ask me what I’ve learned!
