Shelley Bueche - Biography
Shelley Bueche is a freelance writer in Austin, Texas. She is the author of two books, The Ebola Virus (KidHaven Press 2003) and Bed Bugs (KidHaven Press 2005) written for the school library educational market. She is currently working with a photographer on developing a children’s nonfiction photo-essay book about an arson dog team with the Austin Fire Department.
Shelley has had numerous articles published in newspapers, magazines and journals, on topics as healthcare, parenting, the human-animal bond and Texas travel. Prior to her career in freelance writing, her experience was in nonprofit management.
She is a self proclaimed ‘news junkie’ and is constantly poring over media sources looking for the next great story! Her husband, Eamonn F. Healy, is a chemistry professor at St. Edward’s University. Their two sons, Burns and Conor, attend school in Austin. Shelley shares her workspace with her three canine co-workers; Belle, Brownie and Boomer.
