My dear readers,
I truly hope that the holidays brought you many gifts of warmth and love. For Christmas, I had the wonderful opportunity of visiting my mother, step father, and little sister, which was an awesome get-away from work and the usual daily-grind, and a great chance to share the holiday spirit with my loved ones.
As many of you have been patiently, yet excitedly, awaiting the announcement and arrival of the Memoir Writing Showcase, your diligence has paid off. In this issue, we have featured four excellent memoirs! In first place, Ned Burke; second place, Lee Dickman; third place, Mary McIntosh; and honorable mention is Lee Embree. In addition to receiving these four wonderful works, we have many more in waiting for your persual. In the near future we will be releasing those works to you. Congratulations to our winners and thanks to all who entered the contest!
WOL’s contributing writers and columnists, along with a few submissions from our readers, have helped to make this issue another gem amidst the sea of other great issues of WOL. I hope you will enjoy reading the articles, memoirs, poems, and participating in the puzzle and contest.
Good luck to you in fulfilling your New Year resolutions throughout the entire 2006!
With Warm Regards,
Jodi L. Rowland
